Over 59 million Turks are located throughout the world in 70 different countries. They have large numbers in Germany and Turkey. They originated in Turan and arrived in Turkey in the eleventh century. In 1299 the Ottomans began their empire which encompassed large portions of Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. After the empire came to an end, Turks became more secularized and became a mix of both western and eastern culture. Though many have been exposed to Christianity, virtually all Turks remain Muslim.Partnership // Move Beyond
