Jew, Spanish-Speaking in Spain

Before the Holocaust, the largest concentration of Jews was in Eastern Europe. Western Europe now has the highest concentration of Europe’s Jewish population. European Jews fall into two categories: Ashkenazic and Sephardic. Ashkenazic are from the Germanic region, while the Sephardic are from the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal).

Religious Jews adhere to the same primary doctrine of the one God who is the creator and judge of all things, but the religious practice and other beliefs are diverse. Their groups include Orthodox, ultra-Orthodox, Hasidic, Conservative, and Reform movements.

Engagement // What’s Happening Now

Network 211 is a major evangelism website that is bringing people to Christ all around the globe. They have a vision to reach 100 million people with message of Christ. 26 million have visited their site, and over 1.2 million have responded. Pray that this tool brings numerous people to Christ and specifically Jews in Spain.

Sustainability // The Bigger Story

The Pentecostal Fellowship in Spain is small but growing. There are now 200-300 ministers, 200 churches, 20,000 members and adherents, and a bible school with two extensions. Pray that God continues to grow and bless the national church as they work to reach the lost.

Partnership // Move Beyond
  • Pray God compels the local church in Spain to reach the Jews in their country.
  • Pray for a Jacob’s Hope team specifically to reach the Jewish population in western Europe.
  • Pray for the hearts of the Jews that they will be open to the gospel.
