Arab, Lebanese in Syria

The Arab, Lebanese are a subgroup of the larger Levantine Arab groups, which includes those in Cyprus, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria. Though Lebanese Arabs are originally from Lebanon, they can be found throughout the Levant. Many were a semi-nomadic people but now have settled in towns or villages. They maintain tribal affiliations, and these tribes are led by Sheiks, or Islamic experts. There is a large population of Lebanese Christians in Syria, but only .5 percent are Evangelical.

Partnership // Move Beyond
  • Pray for Lebanese Arabs in Syria, that in the midst of unrest they would find peace in Christ.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12, NIV).

  • Pray God empowers Lebanese Christians to be a light in Syria.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14, NIV).

  • Pray many Lebanese Arabs would know that God loves them and desires to commune with them.
