Arab, Iraqi in Kuwait

Kuwait was originally a transition home for nomadic Arabs traveling on trades routes. The land is arid and did not have many settlements until the eighteenth century. Kuwait now has an urban population and an urban environment largely influenced by Islam. For instance, their homes reflect Islamic culture by having a home system that divides men and women, so that male guests may not see the female kin. Iraqi Arabs can be found throughout the Arabian Peninsula, and 18,000 live in Kuwait.

Sustainability // The Bigger Story

There are over 17 million Iraqi Arabs in 24 countries ranging from the Middle East to Europe to North America. There are few Christian Iraqi Arabs, and few who have heard the gospel at all. Pray for those in countries with limited accessibility to the gospel, that churches and preached points will be planted to spread the gospel in those areas.

Problem Solver

One of the primary purposes of Global Initiative is to educate the believer about the practices of Islam in order to better witness to Muslims. With numerous Iraqi Arabs and other Muslim people groups moving across the globe, the need to understand is greater than ever. In the article, “The Refugee Journey – A Quick Overview of Muslim Beliefs and Practices” Donna Krstulovich provides basic facts about Muslim faith and practices.

Partnership // Move Beyond
  • Pray churches are planted and workers are sent to bring the gospel to Iraqi Arabs in Kuwait.
  • Pray their hearts are softened as they hear the Word.
  • Pray for Iraqi Arabs who come to Christ, that God would give them peace and power to live out their new life in Christ.
