Arab, Gulf in Oman

Gulf Arabs live primarily in the southern edges of the Arabian Desert. Gulf Arabs have minimal belongings with their tent being their main belonging. They live a nomadic lifestyle and traverse the desert in caravans. Those living on the desert are called the fellahin and they are more settled and raise sheep and goats. They primarily marry within small social circles and the family inheritance is passed down through the son. They speak their own form of Arabic called Arabiya.

Engagement // What’s Happening Now

Partnership // Move Beyond
  • Pray for more workers to bring access to Muslim people groups in Oman.
  • Pray for open doors and opportunities for Gulf Arabs to hear the gospel.
  • Pray God opens their hearts to hear the Word.

“He prayed to the LORD and said, “Please LORD, was not this what I said while I was still in my own country? Therefore in order to forestall this I fled to Tarshish, for I knew that You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, and one who relents concerning calamity” (Jonah 4:2, NASB).
